Is AI Chatting Allowed on OnlyFans? The Clauses, Quoted and Dated

Updated:

This is the question creators and agencies ask most about AI chat tools, and most answers online are a vendor's summary of the rules — usually the summary that suits the vendor. This page does something narrower: it quotes OnlyFans' own documents word for word, says on which day we read them and from which address, and separates what those words say from what they leave unsaid. We read https://onlyfans.com/terms (the Terms of Use) and https://onlyfans.com/contract (the Contract between Fan and Creator) on 2026-10-19; both carry the footer "Last updated: August 2024". We could not read the Acceptable Use Policy that day, and we say so below rather than guess at it. This is not legal advice. OnlyFans can change its terms at any time, so read the current terms yourself before you decide anything.

The Short Answer

In the two OnlyFans documents we read on 2026-10-19 — the Terms of Use and the Contract between Fan and Creator — there is no clause that mentions chatbots, AI-written messages, automated messaging or chat software. The word "AI" appears in the Terms of Use twice: once about the tools OnlyFans itself uses to review content, and once about labelling AI-generated content. What those documents do say, clearly, is that the creator stays legally responsible for everything posted and for all use of her account, including when someone else — a hired chatter or an agency — helps run it, and that direct messages are part of what OnlyFans calls a Creator Interaction.

That is not the same as "AI chatting is allowed". The Terms of Service are eight documents, not one, and one of them — the Acceptable Use Policy — would not load for us on the day we checked. In 2024 Reuters reported that OnlyFans' terms barred creators from using AI chatbots to write chats or direct messages. We could not find that wording in the two documents we read, and we could not check the Acceptable Use Policy. Until you have read it yourself, treat the question as open, not as settled in either direction.

How We Read the Terms

On 2026-10-19 we requested https://onlyfans.com/terms and https://onlyfans.com/contract directly. Both returned the full text of the document, which we rendered in a browser, saved and searched. https://onlyfans.com/aup redirects to the Terms of Use. https://onlyfans.com/acceptable-use-policy returned only a page shell that needs scripts to display the policy, and those scripts could not be loaded from our environment, so we saw no policy text at all. The Community Guidelines page behaved the same way.

We searched the two documents we did read for every word that bears on the question — chatbot, bot, automated, automation, script, scraping, impersonate, login, password, third-party, agent, disclose — and every relevant clause that turned up is quoted on this page. We did not take any clause from a vendor's blog, a search snippet or memory. Where we report what the press said, it is labelled as press, not as policy. The full capture is kept with this page's sources and dated.

What the Terms Say, Word for Word

From the Terms of Use (https://onlyfans.com/terms, read 2026-10-19). The most important clause for this question is about other people working on a creator account: "You are legally responsible for all Content you Upload. If you are a Creator and someone else assists you with the operation of your Creator account, this does not affect your legal responsibility. Our relationship is with you, and not with any third-party, and you will be legally responsible for ensuring that all Content posted and all use of your account complies with the Terms of Service."

Messages are covered by the same rules as posts. The Terms define a Creator Interaction as "an interaction on OnlyFans that grants access to a Creator's Content, including: (i) a Subscription; (ii) a payment for pay-per-view Content; and (iii) any other interaction or payment between a User and a Creator's account or Content, including direct messages", and they define Upload as to "publish, display, post, type, input, or otherwise share" any material, text included.

The two mentions of AI are these. On moderation: "When we review Content in accordance with our internal policies, we reserve the right to conduct these reviews with technology tools such as classifiers, and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning-enabled tools to detect and remove Content that violates our policies." And under transparency requirements: "AI Generated Content: AI Generated content must comply with our Terms of Service and must be clearly and conspicuously captioned as AI Generated Content with a signifier such as #ai, or #AIGenerated."

From the Contract between Fan and Creator (https://onlyfans.com/contract, read 2026-10-19), in the list of obligations between creator and fan: "The Fan acknowledges that third parties may assist Creators in operating their accounts and in Creator Interactions." The same list says "The Fan and the Creator agree to comply at all times with OnlyFans Terms of Service."

On enforcement, the Terms of Use say OnlyFans may, "At any time, without warning or Notice and for as long as is necessary to review the relevant facts", suspend or delete an account, pause fan payments or withhold earnings if "we think you have or may have seriously or repeatedly breached the Terms of Service". They also say "We may suspend or delete your account with 30 days' Notice, at any time, for any reason", and that "Where permitted we may change any part of the Terms of Service without Notice".

What This Means for a Creator

Whatever writes your messages — you, a chatter, an agency or software — the messages are yours in OnlyFans' eyes. The Terms put the responsibility on the account holder and say plainly that help from someone else does not move it. If an AI tool writes something that breaks the rules, the account that sent it is the one at risk, not the tool's vendor.

The Terms also say content must be "as described by you". When an AI describes or sells a photo or video, the description is your representation about that content. A tool that can offer a file it has never seen, or describe it wrongly, is creating a problem that lands on your account.

The AI-generated content clause is about content — posts and media — and asks for a visible label such as #ai or #AIGenerated. It does not say whether it applies to the text of a chat message, and we would not read it as answering the chat question either way. If an AI tool generates images or video for you, that clause applies to them directly.

What This Means for an Agency

OnlyFans' relationship is with the creator, "and not with any third-party". An agency has no standing of its own under these Terms: the account, the responsibility and the risk of suspension all sit with the creator whose account it runs. The Contract between Fan and Creator does acknowledge that "third parties may assist Creators in operating their accounts and in Creator Interactions", so assistance in itself is anticipated by the documents we read. Nothing in those documents says what kind of assistance is acceptable.

In practice that means an agency should be able to show each creator, in writing, what the tools will do in her account, who can see her conversations and what is sent in her name. The Terms also say a user cannot "transfer, assign, or subcontract" their rights or obligations, which is one more reason for the creator to stay the account holder and decision-maker, with the agency working on her behalf.

What the Clauses We Read Do Not Say

Reading carefully means noticing the silences as well as the sentences. Do not treat any of the following as permission; they are simply things the two documents do not address.

  • They do not mention chatbots, AI-written messages or automated replies at all — neither a ban nor a permission
  • They do not say whether a fan must be told that someone other than the creator, or software, wrote a message
  • They do not name, approve or prohibit any third-party chat or management tool
  • They do not say how a creator may give a helper access to her account, beyond holding her responsible for all use of it
  • They are not the whole agreement: the Acceptable Use Policy and the Community Guidelines are part of the Terms of Service, and we could not read them on 2026-10-19
  • They do not promise that following them keeps an account safe — OnlyFans keeps the right to suspend for any reason with notice, and without notice while it reviews a suspected breach

What the Press Reported

In 2024 Reuters published an investigation into agencies using AI software to chat with OnlyFans subscribers. As it was reported and widely syndicated, the piece said OnlyFans' terms barred creators from using AI chatbots to write chats or direct messages, and that OnlyFans declined to answer Reuters' questions about AI on the site. That is press reporting about the terms at the time, not a clause we have read. We could not open the article itself from our environment, the wording it attributed to the terms is not in the Terms of Use or the Contract between Fan and Creator as served on 2026-10-19, and we could not check whether it is in the Acceptable Use Policy. If it is, it applies to every AI chat tool, ours included.

How OF.ai Is Built Around These Clauses

None of this makes any tool "approved by OnlyFans" — OnlyFans approves none that we know of, and we make no such claim. What we can describe is how the product is built so that the creator keeps the responsibility the Terms give her and can actually exercise it.

The creator stays in control of every thread. Every message the AI sends appears in the workspace next to the fan's, in the same thread. The AI Chatter's switch works per fan and per model, so a person can take over any conversation, and the conversations she wants to keep stay hers. Each AI reply is logged with the stage it was in and what it sent, so a wrong answer can be traced to the rule that produced it.

The account stays hers. She signs in to OnlyFans herself, in an isolated browser she sees on screen; the password is not entered into our forms and is not stored. Every OnlyFans account gets its own residential network address, tied to her profile and never given to a second account, and there is no shared fallback address. The AI does not change OnlyFans settings, prices or payouts.

What is sent is hers to send. Each file in the library carries a trust status — imported from her own OnlyFans vault, uploaded and verified by her, or approved by a reviewer — and the system is designed so that only those files can leave the platform. The AI only offers files from that library, at prices inside the range she set for each category, so it is not describing content it has never seen. The details are on our security and control page.

Checklist Before You Use Any AI Chat Tool

Run through this for any product, including OF.ai, whose own answers to most of these questions are in the OF.ai safety FAQ. Write the answers down; if a vendor cannot answer one, that is an answer too.

  • Read the current Terms of Use, Acceptable Use Policy and Community Guidelines on onlyfans.com yourself, and note the date you read them
  • Ask the vendor who presses send — the AI, or a person approving each message — and decide which your account should use
  • Check that you can switch the AI off for one fan and take over a live conversation, and that you see everything that was sent
  • Ask how the software signs in to OnlyFans, whether your password is stored, and which network address your account's traffic uses
  • Ask what stops the AI from offering a file you have not approved, or describing a file it has not seen
  • Set a stop list of topics the AI must never answer, and test it before real fans see it
  • Decide in advance what you will do if OnlyFans changes its terms on AI — who checks, and how fast you can switch the AI off
  • Keep a person responsible for each account, because the Terms hold the creator responsible whatever the tool

FAQ

Is AI chatting allowed on OnlyFans?

The Terms of Use and the Contract between Fan and Creator we read on 2026-10-19 do not mention AI-written messages at all, so they neither allow nor forbid them in words. They do make the creator responsible for all use of her account. We could not read the Acceptable Use Policy that day, and Reuters reported in 2024 that the terms then barred AI chatbots from writing messages. Read the current documents yourself before deciding. This is not legal advice.

Does OnlyFans allow agencies and chatters to run a creator's account?

The documents we read anticipate help: the Terms of Use say someone else assisting with the operation of a creator account "does not affect your legal responsibility", and the Contract between Fan and Creator says fans acknowledge that "third parties may assist Creators in operating their accounts". Responsibility stays with the creator either way.

Do I have to tell fans that AI writes some messages?

The two documents we read do not address it. The only AI labelling rule in the Terms of Use is for AI-generated content, which must be captioned with a signifier such as #ai or #AIGenerated. Check the current Acceptable Use Policy and the laws where you and your fans live, and decide what your fans should be told.

Can OnlyFans restrict my account for using an AI chat tool?

OnlyFans keeps the right to suspend or delete accounts — with notice for any reason, and without notice while it reviews a suspected serious or repeated breach. No tool, including ours, can promise an account will not be restricted. What you can control is what is sent in your name and how quickly a person can step in.

What does the AI-generated content rule cover?

The Terms of Use say AI-generated content "must comply with our Terms of Service and must be clearly and conspicuously captioned as AI Generated Content with a signifier such as #ai, or #AIGenerated." It is written about content; it does not say whether it covers the text of chat messages.

Why could you not read the Acceptable Use Policy?

On 2026-10-19 its page returned only a shell that needs scripts to display the text, and those scripts could not be loaded from the environment we checked from. Rather than paraphrase a document we did not see, we say so. You can read it in an ordinary browser at onlyfans.com/acceptable-use-policy.

Is OF.ai approved by OnlyFans?

No, and we do not claim it is. We are not aware of OnlyFans approving any third-party chat tool. OF.ai is built so the creator keeps control of every thread, signs in herself, has her own address for her account, and only sends files from her approved library.

Does the creator stay responsible if an agency uses AI on her account?

Yes, according to the Terms of Use: "you will be legally responsible for ensuring that all Content posted and all use of your account complies with the Terms of Service." Their relationship is with the creator, not with any third party.

How often should I re-check the terms?

Whenever you change how your account is run, and at regular intervals you set yourself. The Terms of Use say OnlyFans may change parts of them without notice where permitted. Note the date you read them, as we have done on this page.
